In studio with Kayshia

It's been a while since I'd done some photos with Kayshia so we got together this afternoon to play in the studio.
She had an outfit that she wanted to be photographed in and I wanted to play around with some light configurations, plus she had just colored her hair to be bright red and orange which just so happen to work out really cool with one of the light patterns I had in mine.

Since I really like the results I will show you how they were lit.

The first one here I had a flash at 1/4 power with a small 6x9 softbox hanging from the ceiling about 18" above the models head, at about a 45ยบ angle. I had a second flash at full power on a stand directly behind the model's head pointing slightly up. I had a silver reflector just below the frame to help bounce light up under her chin. There was also a fan to blow her hair.

This was edited in Lightroom 5 with some basic highlight, shadow adjustments, minor skin smoothing, and a bit of saturation to the reds for her hair and blues for her eyes. I added a kiss of red in the highlights in the split toning settings and faded or muted the darks and highlights using one of my presets. I did take it into Photoshop to clean up a few stray hairs.

Be sure to follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Google+ to see more photos from this session.
